Persuasion

danse-macabre

Where shall we go? It all depends,

Where devils dance when daylight ends.

We needn’t stray away too far

To find that place where angels are;

But patience serves a foolish friend.

I’ll spare no time that I could spend.

So here your ready hand takes mine

And leads me to the furthest line:

Where shall we go? It all depends,

Where devils dance when daylight ends.

We all of us can make some terrible choices at three o’clock in the morning.

The verse structure here is very simple and is meant to reflect a brief balladic rhyme, which might complement music for a danse macabre.
