Awkward Silence

Can I let my tongue betray
what we both know to be true;
speaking a language
that doesn’t need words

If I could twist the world
in one hand
and pause the tide,
remain between sentences
and sunrise
with the shadow of your face,
scattered moonlight
lips parted, brushing
my own

There is an answer
But the question
I cannot say
