We Dream Alone – I Wake to You

We dream alone, to face the manifest

And hold ourselves in seeming throes of others;

We take the false caress of eiderdown

As comfort, til in untouched folds we drown;

Only, in stirring, to learn that we are blessed

When, as we wake, we robe ourselves in colours.
